More Maps

I often get inspired by life. Inspiration can come from the smallest of things ,but it's rare that I am so inspired by something that I do something as drastic as starting a blog. However, as I sat there in my seat at the Miss Teen USA pageant last night I was compelled in a way that I cannot even describe. It wasn't the the pageant itself that sprung me from my seat , even though I could write for hours on the embarassment I felt as I witnessed the catastrophe called Miss Teen USA , it was this :

Yes, I know. Where to even begin?

Well, let me help you out Miss Teen South Carolina. What I think she should of said or what I would of said is " I believe one fifth of Americans can't find the United States on a Map because the education system in America is flawed. It is the same reason Bill Gates is forced to hire a majority of foreign employees which is because sadly Americans just aren't smart enough. Our education system is lacking the essentials which Americans need and the government must reform the education system soon , before it is too late." I still cannot believe I witnessed such a train wreck ,but I am so glad that I did because I haven't been this compelled in a long time. Unfortunately, Miss Teen South Carolina only added fuel to the everlasting stereotype that pretty girls are stupid. It seems as if this stereotype will never go away. I myself had the realization that people only expected me to be pretty when I got to college. I see the way people react when they realize I'm not stupid. But with proven statistics that say more Americans would trade intelligence for better looks, I ask myself how will our society ever change? Some may say 'thats just the way is' ,but I will never accept that. This is the start of my way of changing things.

Dont Call Me Stupid
